I absolutely adored these two! When Alexis first contacted me and explained how they met and where they were getting married… I squealed with excitement! I sent her a reply basically begging her to meet up with me lol. Here’s what she said that had me so excited, “JD, and I are planning a New Years Eve Wedding. The most interesting part of our wedding will certainly be the venue. We have chosen to get married and have our reception at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena”. The ceremony and the reception is going to take place on the ice and after the ceremony, they will have their “First Skate”! Skating has always been a large part of our their lives. JD and Alexis first met when at the skating rink, she was five and he was eleven. Due to their age difference at the time, they did not get to know each other. However, after JD returned from college four years ago, their coach urged them to skate together as a pair. This sparked a great friendship which after a year turned into a relationship. Figure skating brought them together and they wanted their engagement session to reflect that. I’m honored they chose me as their wedding photographer and I’m super pumped to shoot their special day.
